How to burn more fat?
 
Hi everyone,
I've been training for 1 year or so and it's been very good, I've gained strength in my legs and arms, It feels amazing.
However, I would love to burn fat from my arms and also lose belly fat. The final goal would be to get abs. I've been searching for exercises on the internet, but I'm not sure what I should actually try and for how long. I would like some advice on what I should focus on, how many repetitions, what are the most effective exercises and so on.
I'd highly appreciate your insight

Losing fat is more about your diet than your training. You can use exercise to create a calorie deficit, but eating less is easier.

Sadly where your body chooses to pull fat from is beyond your control. Mine too.

Promise if there was some way to lose your belly and thighs, but keep your butt and your boobs some woman would have figured it out by now. Or some man. :p

Hey Holly70, Thanks for the advice. However, I think I eat very healthy and try to keep a low consume of calories.
I've read about Intermittent Fasting but that seems more useful to lose weight which doesn't really mean I'd lose fat.
Maybe I should get some supplements?

You "think" you "eat healthy" and you "try" to "keep a low consume of calories". This means that you are not tracking and you will not see results no matter what supplements or other useless variable you are looking at.

Work out , hit enough protein to maintain muscle mass, and be in a TRACKED caloric deficit.

That statement right there is enough to demonstrate that you're missing the bare basics.

I'd recommend you spend some time perusing the fat loss section of the main website.

Briefly, the entire purpose of IF, RFL or any other type of fitness oriented low calorie diet is PRECISELY to lose fat, while ideally preserving muscle.

What on earth do you think "lose weight" means, in a body recompositional context, other than to cut fat?

This is why I mention that. This girl is a personal trainer in Puerto Rico and she posted this image of two girls: One of them looks more fat and her weight is less than the other.


DGB11 - Thanks for the heads up. I've been already researching for how to track them and found a cool app I'm going to use from now on to have a clearer idea of what I am consuming.

She may have changed her composition (some muscle, some fat loss).
She may be different hormonally (menstrual cycle?).
She may hold some water on the right photo.
She may be glycogen depleted in the left photo.
She's wearing different clothes, accentuating different areas.
She may have been to the toilet on the left photo.

You get the point...

The one on the right has more muscle mass and may be taller.

weight loss is losing water, fat loss is losing fat.

weight loss is quick, fat loss is slow.

Hey all, thanks for the comments.

I've been researching more and seems like weight training may help me tone the body. I'll go more into that and see how it goes
