What are your goals in 2018?
I'm in a diet break trying to decide what I want to work on next ... I have lots of ideas but keep changing my mind on what should be the first priority. :p

What are you all planning to focus on in 2018?

Gain 10 lbs muscle

Spend more time with my kid

Stay injury free

Get a better job

Oh I have many. I'm starting off 2018 with a bang because I got a new job, more money, and reduced my commute from 2 hours to 30 minutes so I'm very excited for the new year.

1.) I want to get on a weight-lifting routine again. I'm hoping muscle memory will kick in big and I can get back up to previous maxes. Well except the deadlift because of ongoing lower-back issues.
2.) Maintain my weight below 175lbs throughout the year. I don't want to have to diet longer than a month.
3.) Finish my Master's Degree
4.) Learn a computer programming language; I started studying Python this year
5.) Find some way to make income on the side instead of just my day-job. Looking into Amazon reselling strategies...

Here are my various goals, some of which are contradictory and many of which can't be pursued at the same time:

- cut further, get overall more skinny, and as close to a flat stomach as is sustainable long-term
- experiment with regular short fasts to see if it does offer any improvement in my diabetes. I'm still skeptical on that point but I confess to also being wildly curious. Would probably need to give it a solid 6 months to see any results.
- not be cold and hungry all the time
- walk a marathon
- improve overall fitness -- I don't drink the "Crossfit uber alles" functional fitness Kool-aid, but I'd like to be in good shape overall where I could drop in on a dance class or go to a trampoline park and participate fully and feel accomplished
- stop thinking about food so dang much. Have the energy and the mental bandwidth to improve in my career and pursue some of my hobbies (sewing and photography)

So yeah, no idea what I'm going to do. Haha.

Oh, and I'd like to get six months' lifting experience under my belt in case I want to try UD2.0.

Just to name a couple of goals.
  • Decrease body fat to <15% or until my abs show.
  • Increase my squat(220lbs/1rm) and bench(225lbs/1rm).
  • Develop a long term diet I'll enjoy and stick to.
  • Study and pass the CCENT certification exam for my major.
  • Be more social.

Total complete spiritual freedom, creativity and the ability to express my true identity without letting ego, fear, compensation or any other distortion manipulate that expression.

The gym is just one of many ways I think I can reach that goal.

Some of what Determinism is smoking.

Seriously though, continue advancing in my chosen career. Stay active and injury free. Travel more.

-> work smarter, not harder & trust the process
-> continue to be flexible with dieting and training
-> hit sub 6% just for a challenge
-> stress less about minor things
-> watch Brady win his 6th ring

Say what you will about Time Ferriss he did inspire me to do the same after reading 4 Hour Work Week a few months back. Trying to figure out how to do the same thing myself.
