More fat=more kcal.
Otherwise you'd have to lower protein intake which is not the wisest thing to do ( on low carb UD2 days )

If next time you train you surpass previous numbers ( 8,8,8,7,7 ) then yes.
Otherwise cutting volume for a longer period can cause you to lose muscle ( not top end strenght )

I think 20-rep squat routine is meant to be done in rest pasue fashion - that is you use the weight that you can do 10 reps with and form 11-20 you do those taking 5-10 second breathing pauses...

I found for depletion that it is no problem taking 15-20 seconds between sets.
For tension I superset movements ( Chest-Back etc. ) so the rest is about 45 seconds.

I found out that I can keep the reps and weight on a cut if I train in the 4-8 range.
So I tend to stick to that.
