cycling while standing for long periods, bad idea?

I was planning on applying threshold training on the bike while standing, but I wasnt so sure if this would be a bad on the leg muscles, joints ect.

Ps can low fat intake effect ability to sweat?. Havent watch my fat intake recently other just taking 1 or 2 flaxeed capsules with 3-4meals.
