I'd like to do a similar project where I take a lot of pictures of hot girls.

That's pretty much it.

Leigh Peele did this for us in one of her forums. It was quite enlightening. It also made us realize alot of those Victoria Secret models are surprisingly higher in bodyfat than we think, and that many of us that are striving to look like them are training totally wrong.

Thanks Persianlady.

10%...nah. Up close and personal there's an annoying pouch of fat in the lower abs and as Lyle says, some back fat as well.

Yeah, I think that's reasonable. As anti pointed out, once folks get beyond a certain point it starts to get more difficult to make a decent visual estimate (measurement is equally difficult). It also tends to matter less since, assuming you get even the basics right, you should be losing almost exclusively fat anyhow.

incidentally, this is why a book like got mentioned would be useful. On the internets, most people drastically underestimate true body fat.

What they think is 10 is closer to 15, what they think is 15 is closer to 20, etc. I've seen some real howlers with females, women who think and/or are told that they are low teens when it's more like high-teens/low 20's.

Leads to a lot of disappointments come contest day.

A book with 4 chapters:
Chapter One
Lots of pictures of different food/amounts, next to real world objects so that you can get a sense of scale. Then list how much fat/carbs/protein are in them and total calories.

Chapter Two
Pictures of women in different clothes and then in bathing suits, next to things for scale and a checkerboard with height reference, and their bodyfat levels as given by a variety of measurements, weight, and their weekly routines/diets in terms of what their profession and workouts are (so you can see their likely caloric expenditure vs what they eat).

Chapter Three
Same as #2, but with dudes

Chapter Four
A popup book with puppies, ponies, and tractors.

Hmm, actually, that's a pretty solid idea (obviously #4 is a joke, that's going to be my autobiography).
