Default Pat Mendes

I see that Poliquin is training Mendes now. Anyone here have any information on how Mendes is doing with Poliquin?

He's not 'training' him, broz is. Poliquin is just sponsoring him, giving him free supps and money, doing some rehab style stuff (both corrective/prehab training and typical crazy poliquin needling, ART, creams, strange machines blah blah.)

This one article on tmag while ago talked about this one coaching maxing his athletes out every training. And said overtraining is a myth. This wouldn't be broz right? If it is I would rather have poliquin training me. Yeah poliquin lost his mind long ago but at least he has his athletes deload every 2-4 weeks.

Broz is his coach and uses a very Bulgarian oriented system in terms of OL'ing (which is very different than other strength sports). So they are working to a daily max. Which is not the same as maxing daily. And the loading is more complex than that with relatively easier and harder weeks.

I'm curious about his performances. He's been far from what they said he could do, and my guess is that he'll get crushed in 2012.

Without desiring to dredge up this bit of drama, someone I was talking to during the neverending OL'ing in the US series commented that Pat was about 15% off his best gym lifts in a competition.

Which was drug tested.

This is all I know about the situation so there's not much point in debating it beyond that.

Yeah, i just found it odd that he snatched 175 and clean and jerked 205, iirc. Was expecting a lot more, from all the hype. Like someone said, either he's at the end of something, or he's injured

We'll see how it goes.
