Default better to force eat?

Question: lets say I had a goal of eating 140g of protein today, but at the end of the night, I only hit 100g. Should I force myself to have a protein shake for the sake of having the protein, of should I just skip it? This applies to if I am not hungry.

Today I forced myself to have a shake, but it just felt wrong.
