Weighed today at 174.6lbs (bloated). I'm sure I'm still 15% bf or lower. I decided this morning this moderate diet thing isn't working out for me (I barely dieted past 2 weeks so no need to go at maintenance for this). I decided to do a run at CAT1 to reach my below 170lb target. Literally like 2-3 days or so I won't even be hungry...After that I'm going to take a break because the holidays are just absolute minefields for dieting. The day I break the diet is my son's birthday so I'm really looking forward to that as well.

Lets get this over with!

First day not too bad. Dodged some donuts and my wife made really good quail eggs but I ate a few of those. Today is a bit tougher because it is Halloween and I have to drive somewhere as soon as I get home...I somehow gotta fit food into my schedule today. I'm sure I'll figure something out. Will also have to dodge pizza later. It is really strange; all the good tasty bad foods seems to come out whenever you start a strict regime! I hope these 11 days go by fast.

Did not have a chance to eat yesterday until about 9pm. Luckily I seem to convert to ketosis really quickly and get blunt hunger affects. Perhaps it is from my past experience with these diets that my body has learned something.

I'm continuing to melt and seeing visual progress everyday. Staying strong. Avoided all the Halloween candy and treats. Today I'm going to eat 400 grams of chicken (100 protein) and add in some sardines, salad, and whey just to mix it up a bit.

Finally! I broke the 170lb mark. This has been my goal for the longest time. Now I have to keep dieting because I know I'm not at a true below 170 (water/food/glycogen is surely depleted).

Last night I felt a bit dizzy and was having problems everytime I stood up. I drank a glass of saltwater....that seemed to cure me. I have to monitor my electrolyte intake better. I take Calcium & Magnesium ever day along with the fish oil and multivitamin.

The 170lb thing has a bit of backstory. All throughout high school I was your average athletic build and I weighed around 173-175lbs. When I graduated basic training for the military I reached a low of 169lbs. I figured I could never reach that weight again afterwards because I was pretty much deprived to get there. I spent the next 7 years in the high 180s and low 190s because I just ate whatever I wanted.

I began dieting back in June when I decided I didn't wanna be chubby looking anymore. Seeing 169 on the scale this morning was a thing of beauty even with the 0.8 attached. I was not forced to reach this weight - it was my own mental fight to get there! I had some set backs and logged them in this journal but ultimately overcame.

My long-term goal is to maintain below 170lb so I never have to be in a calorie deficit again. I plan on dieting for a lifetime though - dieting meaning not intentionally trying to lose fat but to maintain a fairly good weight for my height for health reasons. Also..it looks good to fit in 32" clothes. My jawline shows. I feel healthy and bouncy. Its just nice. I don't lift weights (would like to get back into it one day when my career and graduate school are not running my life) and I have no intention of bulking and putting on a bunch of muscle mass either. I do want to increase strength though.

Cracked yesterday. Never felt so bad on RFL before. Did not help that my chicken was still frozen. I felt like I was going to pass out at one point after standing up. Ended up eating some fries, lots of chili (turkey meat/beans) and than drank a load of whole milk. I think the milk made a huge difference in particular...all that Potassium and Calcium and maybe the salt from the Fries. It really was electrolytes I needed.

Felt instantly better and now I'm rejuvenated. The weight this morning gives me a better idea of where I'm really at. I'm not truly 170lb or below yet so I'm going to keep pressing on now. Assuming I'm burning 0.4lbs of fat tissue a day, I got about 4-5 days of true RFL left. Maybe 6 days actually.

Umm. Was 173lbs this morning. Haven't really been on the diet. Not sure why I lost motivation.

I'm decently skinny now and wearing 32" pants comfortably and I think part of the motivation issue is I'm already healthy and looking pretty good. I need to find a new motive. I would really like to get back into lifting weights. I have a job interview next week that I hope I can get because that job teleworks 3x a week which would be perfect for my schedule as I am commuting 4 hours a day...

Dieting/Exercise is a lifestyle for sure. I started incorporating a salad everyday a few days ago. We shall see how long that lasts.

For now, 175lbs or more and I will diet immediately. As long as I'm below this for now I will chill out. I know I wanted to get under 170lb but it is damn hard right now. I get dizzy easy, feel lackluster, no libido. I didn't have these issues on my Cat 2 run but on Cat 1 I seem to be.

171.6lbs this morning.

Still eating salad dinner. Began eating breakfast. Can of sardines with some crackers and 2 cups of whole milk with vitamin d3/calcium. Basically I'm aiming for 2k calories max every day while I figure out what I want to do in the future. This should keep me well under 175 for a while. I did some split squats randomly yesterday; legs pretty sore.

Sounds like you're in a good place for the moment. I'm glad you're feeling better. Good luck on the job interview next week!
