Default foundation for weight training

Hi guys

www.self.com/story/strong-foundation
states
... if you’re a brand-new exerciser or you’ve been out of the game for a few years, you’ll need to build up your strength and conditioning over the course of 12 months before going heavy, ...

That is exactly what I need.

I am 54 years old, male. Inactive for 30 years.

Willing to spend 2 years laying a foundation. All I need is a program to follow. Don't care about muscle building, definition or weight loss. Want to strengthen bones, muscles and especially joints, ligaments, tendons and cartilage. Progress can be slow. Prefer not to be injured.

Recommendatios and suggestions welcome.
