Default Bit confused about fat intake during the refeed period on UD 2.0?

Hi all,

In the book, Lyle says to keep fat intake during the refeed period below 50 grams, or 15% of total calories. For me, at least, if 15% of my total calories on refeed day were coming from fat, it would mean that I'd be eating around 94 grams of fat. What's the deal? From what I've read, most people seem to keep it to around 50. That's doable, but not as enjoyable. Is 50 the upper limit I should be hitting during the refeed or should it really be whatever 15% of my calories is?

Thanks.

Yeah... just keep it 50g or lower. No need to give yourself too many calories for easy fat storage if you don't have to. I have mine at .25g/lb of LBM... this keeps it at around 45g for me. Works quite well.

honestly. i remember eating over 80g of fat multiple times on refeed days and i gained 0 fat.
lyle explains the mechanism behind losing fat on refeeds + you actually lose fat from inside the muscle. you're not just depleting glycogen, you're depleting muscle triglycerides as well.
50g of fat is somewhat reasonable amount if you want to continue losing fat.
but trust me, if you did deplete properly, you wont gain any.
i give myself some freedom every 2nd or 3rd refeed and then i maintain 40-50g of fat mostly from olive oil and omegas/R-ALA etc...

Just keep it below 50grams. Yes its bland but if you want great results you need to suck it up
