Lyle,

So am i correct in saying that LISS "lately" gets a bad rap from people over on Tnation and other so called experts because there arguement is that it burn calores but not fat.

That statement is based on the fact that LISS has little effect on EPOC

But your articles show that whilst sprints and metabolic work will cause more EPOC the calories you burn after the metabolic stuff is so minimal that in the grand scheme of things it really don't matter?

It gets a bad rap all over the net because people are a bunch of clueless bandwagon jumpers and nobody understands the physiology that they are writing about.

EPOC is irrelevant and most of the calories burned by low intensity activity come from fat so the idea that it doesn't burn fat is irrelevant. Certainly it doesn't burn massive amounts of calories. But neither does HIIT when you work it out. Esp the kind of 'intervals' that most do. The rest of this was discussed ad nauseum in the article series.

There is also a more subtle issue: the simple fact is that there is truly nothing new in the field and people think that they need new exciting things instead of the fundamentals.

So the only way to stand out is to be controversial.

So writing nonsense like "Low intensity cardio makes you fat and doesn't work and blah, blah, blah" gets you attention. Even if it's completely idiotic and wrong.

And next year, everyone will have chagned their tune realizing that all those intervals with weights and a lowcarb diet just overtrained folks. Bu everybody will have forgotten the earlier nonsense and follow the next bandwagon.

Thanks Lyle.

Also another question ( I've only skimmed the articles ) So if on cover it please say.

I've also read that LISS can down regulate metabolsim and it programs your body to MAKE you fat..

You know what, I've asked you 4 times to READ THE ARTICLE SERIES but instead of doing that you keep asking the same question over and over and over again. I wrote those articles SO THAT I DON'T HAVE TO REPEAT MYSELF HERE because you can't be bothered to read what I've already written.

Now, I don't know what you do for a living but I doubt you

a. do it for free.
b. would put up with someone wasting your time like that.

Yet you seem to have no problem doing that to me. Hence, I will not respond further to your questions in this thread.

I find it endlessly amusing when people complain about having to read.

It fits in pretty solidly with the "not getting lean enough, fast enough" concept too I suppose.

I feel like I should be waving my cane around about how kids these days never read.

Related to that, can someone come over to my place and spoon feed me something mushy and palatable? I don't have time for cooking or chewing.
