Default Zoe's road back to Hottie at 48

Hi all - I've always just been a lurker only reading- never posting - this is big step for me but here I go... I've had three of Lyle's books on my nightstand for the last year and been a huge fan of his bluntness and writing style, finally ready to take the plunge and go for it. I'm keeping a log here because I could not find any posts from women in my age bracket - so maybe this will help others.

My stats: 48 Year old female
5' 8"
weight: 158 or so (no scale available at the moment) *size 10 - 12 (argh!)
Goal: to be a HOTTIE again at approx 128 - 132 lbs *size 4 to 6

History - never had issues with weight until I turned 40 - have always excercised - love to run and weight train. At 40 just jumping on the treadmill or skipping dinner no longer made my tummy flat - gained 10 lbs overnight. Then gained another 10 the following year. At 42 I hired a trainer and followed a very strict low carb fitness type model diet and had to spend 90 minutes at the gym 6 days a week to keep the weight down - stayed pretty trim for about 8 months - it's all come back. OK - not happy at this weight or size, tired of dabbling in getting my body back.

I can't beleive that I have been struggling for the last 8 years with this - have to conquer!

Plan - follow PSMF until April 25th 08
Take 1 weak break while in vacation in Hawaii
Back on PSMF for 6 weeks or until I hit my goal (whichever comes first)
Post daily, weight, food and excercise

Thanks all!

Saturday Food:
Protein Shake, 3.5 F/6C/25P
Supplements, 6 fish oil tabs, calcium and multi
1 Whole Egg & 2 whites, 6F/1C/14P
Broccoli 1 cup raw, .5F/7C/5P
Turkey, 3.5 oz roasted white meat, 3F/0C/30P
Snap Peas raw, 3 oz, 0F/6C/3P
Filet Mignon, Lean 4 oz, 9F/0C/33P
Broccoli 1 cup steamed,0F/7C/5P
Cheddar Cheese,1 oz LF, 5F/1C/7P

Totals: 900 Cal/33F/30C/120P

Excercise - raced thru two airports - wished slow walking people would get out of the way or stay home

Weight Sunday am: 156.50
Took measurements today too
Chest: 39.25
Waist: 32.50
Hips: 41.50

I'm not sure I'll keep taking all these measurements, mostly worried about the waist measurement - if that goes down so will the rest proportionately - most of my weight seems to have sprung up there...

Short term goal:
I have a pair of True Religion jeans in size 31 - they fit but my fat hangs over the top when I button - I think that I will use those as a measurement - I will try them on 1 week from today and see if they are wearable.

BF is having yummy sour dough toast with his coffee this morning - it smells so good - I need to hurry up and eat my breakfast and resist the bread.

Wednesday AM weight 156.50 -same as yesterday

Cardio today - intervals
3 minute rounds on treadmill
2 min at 6 MPH, 1 minute at 8MPH - total of 7 rounds

I thought my calories were too high yesterday - skipped the pre-workout protein shake - had a couple big spoonfuls of cottage cheese 'cause that's the only thing I could think of at 5am - need to come up with something else-cold cottage chees at 5am was not pleasant

Hi Zoe! I am in NorCal too! What area are you in?

Your refeed on Sunday was really low on carbs... with weight training and cardio, you should be taking in 3g/lb LBM. You were barely over 1g/lb LBM! I know it's hard to see the scale go up after a refeed, but it's really important to follow Lyle's recommendations, it will help the strict part of the diet be more effective.

Your food looks good! VERY similar to my diet setup and lots of the same foods to... you have good taste! Last thing, Lyle specifically recommends not doing interval cardio on PSMF... only SS cardio. Calories are just too low overall, you will crash and burn trying to do too much workout-wise while doing PSMF. Not to be bossy here, I just don't want to see you hit the wall. It was hard for me to back off on weights and cardio too, but I keep reminding myself that I don't want to sabotage all the work I am doing on the diet.

I will check back with you!
