Default Shoudler Girdle Health in 3 Upper Days

Lyle,

Your go-to routine is an Upper/Lower with upper getting hit 2x/week. A lot of people take 1 of those upper days and break into 2 sessions similar to phat, example:
Upper
Lower
Shoulder/Back
Lower
Chest/arms

Or
Upper
Lower
Push
Pull
legs

This makes you hit your upper body 3x a week instead of 2. I remember in one of your articles (or maybe a forum post, not sure) you talked about shoulder girdle health. Is training your upper 3 days, similar to the above way outlined, potentially asking for an injury? Or is it safe if volume isn't crazy?

I know fitting all the volume into one upper day can be a lot, which is why you suggest speciliaztion cycles.. but for people who like to do a little more volume than spec cycles should they be careful of this 3x a week setup?
