Default Water retention when sick ?

Just wanted some in put on this. On Wednesday I came on with a pretty serious cold with a lot of night sweats, coughing, sneezing and general lethargy etc.. wonít bore you with the details. Itís basically just being sick. However, one of thing I noticed is the day of getting this cold I retained water heavily around the stomach and face. I canít quite pin point why this has happened as Iíve actually eaten less due to a lack of appetite. Not starvation levels less but maybe floating 100-200 cal below maint. Has it got to do with the fact that being ill is a stress and this is all cortisol related? Anybody share a similar experience ?

I just had the exact opposite experience.

Took nyquil. Think maybe there's alcohol in there?

Anyway, drained the water right out of me like a leaky bucket.

I have noticed this, my whole life. I notice it on other people when they are sick.

Does your medication have dipenhydramine? That causes me to retain some

Not taking anything aside from antibiotics at the moment. Iím gonna put the puffiness / water retention down to general stress my body is under
