the scale was artificially down this morning. that's because last night i decided to grab a couple of drinks with a friend. i haven't had a drink in about a month, and i know alcohol acts as a diuretic. anyway, over the course of the evening i had 2 martinis. strong drinks for sure. but i've never had a problem with 2 drinks.

i came home, ate some pork rinds, drank a little water and went to bed. i woke up at 4:30am not feeling great and also quite thirsty. i decided to be a dork and weigh myself before drinking a gallon of water and when i saw 148, should have been psyched because i've wanted to be in the 140s for so long, but knew it was just from the alcohol being a diuretic.

anyway, drank a whole bunch of mineral water and then threw up! 2x. i was amazed. i haven't thrown up from drinking since i was in my early 20s. i felt like death after that.

i've heard drinking on keto can be harder but wow, i have no idea what was going on there. that was crazy.

anyway, i drank a bunch of powerade zero today and ate my typical low carb diet but threw a bunch of bone broth in there so the carb count was higher than normal, and i had less fat than normal. wonder how much water weight i'll put back on in the morning.

obviously i won't be having 2 martinis again anytime soon.

Two notes:

1) I think throwing up the other day likely had nothing to do with my 2 drinks -- I'd taken some potassium supplement when I got home with water and I think I took too much.

2) I'm in my ovulation cycle, which always brings water bloat. I've been easily eating lower calorie than my goal lately and not on purpose. Appetite is just less. So not that I'm at a plateau -- the scale is still trending downward overall -- but I do expect to see a drop in a few days.

After a month of being strict with my diet and almost antisocial as a result, I decided to let myself go "off the reservation" a bit this weekend due to a bunch of significant family celebrations // parties. So Friday I went out two 2 events. I stuck to my meal plan but ended up having 3 drinks over the course of the evening, hence the scale being down (alcohol = diuretic) to the 140s again.
