Default No calorie SPLENDA packet has 4 calories (equivalent to 1 gram of sugar)

Splenda is a "zero-calorie sweetener", at least in the US. Or at least, that's what it says on the packet. With the help of some Benedict's Solution, and his chemistry teacher, Alex is going to do some food science.

Yes. 100g of splenda contains calories. About 350kcal or something, similar to the calories in table sugar. Obviously it contains a lot of calories gram for gram.

The point is, only a tiny tiny amount is used in order to achieve an enormous sweetening effect. 50mg of splenda is sweeter than 5g of sucrose. That way, it is "zero calorie".

The calories is from the maltodextrin they use for filler. Only a very small portion is actually sucralose. Pure sucralose has zero calories and a gram of it would be massively too much for regular use hence they add filler, which has the calories.

Of course it says this on the back of the packet... Contents: 1g maltrodextrin
Half-way measures don't get very far. You can only do one thing well at a time. Trying to gain muscle while losing fat will result in failure.

Get to 10% bodyfat first while lifting weights heavy 3x a week with reduced volume. Two weeks maintenance. Bulk up slowly (1 lb weight gain per week max), focus on getting stronger, measure body composition changes often.

A cup of black coffee has like 5 calories in it. Don't tell the IFers or they might have aneurysm and mental breakdown just like Martin.
