Default Is it safe to cut?

Hi.

I've just finsihed watching a video on YouTube about why teenagers shouldn't cut and be on a deficit because it can stunt growth in the bones, sexual organs and cause many health problems and hinder the persons development.

I'm currently 20 years old and am wanting to shed a little fat to go down from around 14% body fat to 10%, and put up a thread the other day asking about caloric intake.
The response I got from Lyle and others was that if I wasn't losing weight at 1700 I was simply eating too much, and needed to be eating at 10 calories per pound of body weight or possibly lower at my weight of 140lbs.

Obviously that's a fairly low amount of calories, and I've read several times that the male body stops growing generally at age 21, so I was wondering whether it's reasonable to assume I could end up doing some damage if I cut now?

most growing of course occurs during puberty, but I'm just concerned that if I haven't reached that fully developed age of around 21 that I could cause some issues.

Is this something I should likely be concerned about?

I should add I'm fairly confident my height has stayed the same since I was 18, but I don't know whether everything will have.

Thank you.

First of all, it probably doesn't matter much, no matter how old you are. I've been ill for 3-4 months in a row when I was 13 years old. Eating hardly anything. No permanent effects whatsoever.

Secondly, you only need to drop 4%, so it's a temporary caloric restriction. 10% BF is not starvation level.

Finally, you're 20 years old. Arnold already won Mr. Olympia by then.

Arnold was taking a boat load of PED's as well.

OP at 20 I'd say you are fine.

You have no idea whether there were any 'permanent' effects, given that you cannot possibly know how you might have grown differently if you had not been ill over that period.

Thank you all for your comments.
So the general concencous so far is that I'd be alright.

Not sure how long I'll need to cut for but hopefully it wouldn't be too long anyway.
