Try 100mg of 5-htp and some carbs before bed.

Have a hot bath with epsom salt and lavender, completely dark room, no light from PC or phone before sleep, etc

I'll try that. I keep seeing conflicting reports about what works better. 5-htp or tryptophan?

AFAIK, 5-htp is a biochemically closer to serotonin.

Default small update

I had put on like 15 pounds through inattention

I started intermittent fasting again, and for whatever reason this time I eat in the morning and nothing before bed, so no food at least 6 hours before bed.

Last time I did IF (I dif it for ~4years) I was eating after 8pm.

My sleep's gotten better. I occasionally sleep 7 hours straight - whereas for the last couple of years I rarely got more than 4 hours.

It's been my lifelong habit to eat close to bed.

ZMA pills (2-3) before bed always helps me sleep... give those a shot maybe? NOW sells them and they're cheap. Somewhere on here Lyle explained how you could make your own version for cheaper. Maybe check the supplements thread.
