Default carbs and water balance

I have been incorporating some more carbs, and scaling back the fat in my diet.. my weight has gone up 4-5 pounds since Saturday... could this just be a water balance deal? I need to weigh in again at the gym, today, as my scale battery died.

I am a type 2 diabetic, so I am trying to be carefull here with the carbs, but per my glucometer readings, Steel Cut oats/ small handfull of blueberries in the morning seemed fine. Was eating a lot of omelettes

Other than that I cut out 99 percent of my cheese consumption and upped the veggies mostly Broccoli and Cauliflower an apple here and there and a few walnuts when I get hungry between meals instead of cheese.

Every gram of carbs stores 3-4 grams of water so yes it's water

Thank you Lyle. Trying to lean out quite a bit more, so this was a bit concerning.

Did you eat 17,500 calories above maintenance in 4 days?

No.

What else could it be beyond water, food in the gut, etc.
