Default Nature Made 250 mg Magnesium

Recommendation:
Follow Lyle's book and don't take 500mg at once if you aren't sure.

Took 500mg the first time on the second day.

Bad diarrhea. Explosive. Anal fissure

Took 250mg on the third day.

No problems.

Took 500mg on the fifth day.

Bad diarrhea. Explosive. Anal fissure /blood in the stool.

Probably because it was magnesium oxide, which is laxative. What you need is citrate form of magnesium.

Like mentioned, make sure the salt form is correct, use citrate. Around 300 mg a day should be able to help with muscle cramps relating to low mg levels, and half of that to keep them away if one has the tendency to get them.
