Report for Wed, Mar 8 Day 3 of "eat less, move more v2.0"

Intake: 711 Kcal / p 115 / C 21 / F 21
Underestimates fats & veggie carbs

Exercise: 8500 steps, 1 hour LISS on the exercise bike

I felt better on Wed than on Tuesday, probably because calories were higher. I was also so busy at work that I didn't have time to notice.

Thurs am weigh-in: 157.4 (-4.2). Just water weight leaving, nothing to get excited about.

Thurs, Mar 9.

intake: 759 Kcal / 100 P / 23 F / 38 C
exercise: upper body workout; 12,200 steps

Upper body workout was kinda depressing in that it drove home how far I have to go to get back to some semblance of strength. Oh well, I have to start somewhere, right?

Report for Fri, Mar 10

intake: 867 Kcal / 126 P / 29 F /26 C
exercise: 7000 steps -- lame

Good news is that I went out for drinks with friends and had water and coffee. This also meant that I got to be the designated driver. Bad news is no exercise to speak of.

Dinner was takeout: a cup of tom yum soup and 3 chicken satay skewers made with chicken breasts, no peanut sauce. I guessed the macro counts from on-line sources, so the counts could be way off.

Report for Sat, Mar 11

Intake: kcal 864 / 119 P / 28 F / 44 C
Exercise: 4000 steps inc 1 hour LISS on bike.

Carbs are fairly high from two big servings of cauliflower, some spaghetti sauce.

Quite the slothful day. I worked from home, and barely left my office.

Plan for today (Sunday) is more work, a trip to the gym, and errands. Whee.

Been chugging away.

Mar 12:
kcal 803 / 130 / 19 / 29
4900 steps, 1 hour LISS bike

Mar 13: (beginning of week 2)
kcal 640 / 87 / 16 / 41 (lots of veggies today, not much protein)
5600 steps
am weigh-in: 157.2 (-4.4, mostly water)

Today's been OK. I won't make it to the gym because everything is shut down, but I have shoveled about 1600 feet of sidewalk and driveway (400 feet x 4). That has to count for something in the exercise / NEAT department.

Mar 14: Day 2, Week 2 of ELMM v2.0 (eat less, move more)
Kcal 684 / 111 P / 14 F/ 27 C
Exercise was shoveling the driveway & sidewalks 4 times, which is about 2.5 hours of shoveling in total. My back hurts!

Mar 15: Day 3, Week 2
Kcal 791 / 136 P / 15 F / 27 C
Exercise was more shoveling. Forgot to wear my fitbit.

Mar 16: Day 4, Week 2
Kcal 766 / 106 P / 11 F / 58 C
7000 steps
Went to work at 6:30 am, returned home at 6:30 pm & then had a kid thing at the school. In other words, no exercise.
Carbs were way up because lunch was a cup of split pea soup.

Mar 17 morning weigh-in: 154.4 (-7.2)

I'm happy with losing 7.2 pounds in this short of a time, although I know a lot of it is water weight from the diet and from where I am in my cycle. I also won't vouch for the accuracy of my scale. But, I definitely don't feel as bloated, and I notice some of my pants feel looser.

Overall assessment is that "eating less" is going well. I haven't been as good at "moving more," at least if that's understood as trips to the gym. I have been a bit more active in that I've been putting in longer hours at work (which involves some walking around) ... and shoveling. Thank you, Stella.

March 17: Logged just under 1000 calories, walked my 10,000 steps.
March 18: Logged 1100 calories, rode bike for 1 hour (LISS).

March 19 (Day 7, Week 2): I'll confess: I'm having a hard time today. I've been drinking coffee, tea, water, and diet soda all day and snacking on celery and cucumber with salt. I went for a walk, mostly just to get out of the house and away from the snack cupboard. (I've got a teenage boy, so yes, we have a snack cupboard!) The carb cravings are still very strong.

It may be time for a free meal. I haven't had one in the 2 weeks since I started EL-MM V2.0.

Mar 19 (Day 7, week 2)
intake: Kcal 932 / P 124 / F 18 / C 67

So, I made it through the day yesterday despite the cravings. Was rewarded with a 2.6 pound increase on the scale. Great. I assume this is just one of those water weight / cycle fluctuation things.

Mar 20 am weigh-in: 157

Carry on.

Mar 20 Day 1, Week 3
Kcal 900-ish, 122 P / 20 F / 36 C
6800 steps
Another insanely long day at work

Mar 21 am weigh-in: 155.2.

Tried on some of my broken pants. I'm close to being able to wear the "5-pound" pants. The "10-pound" pants need to chill in the closet a bit longer. The "who am I kidding" pants might as well go to the thrift store, but I'll hang on to them because you never know. Plus, I detest shopping.

Good to know I'm not the only one who keeps those pants around!
