Default Diet on Injury: Carbs vs Keto

Hello folks,

I am going to have an ACL reconstruction surgery (on my knee). I was planning to go keto/IF after it, not so much for the fat loss, but because it increases HGH, adjusts inflammation etc. In Lyle's new book however (nutrition for injury recovery), the anabolic state from an above maintenance carb diet is recommended.

So I am taking this chance to ask what up with that.

No no no no no no no no no

GH pulses are irrelevant. You need sufficient calories and keto would be horrific. Don't IF either.

Probably more to it but from reading and what Lyle has mentioned, Keto is not good for regulation of some hormones (thyroid hormones) plus carbs help with immune system function.

Also keto diets:
"" ...signal that body is in high stress state
" can create thyroid problems
" TSH increase; T3, T4 decrease
" cortisol up...""
