Is there a point of doing specialization cycle during a cut, or should anyone stay to the GBR for cutting ?

Hi every one,
I did Calves specialization during last bulk (5x5 + 3x8-10 as mentionned by Lyle and respecting thé tempo) as I am now cutting I was wondering how much reps would be minimal to keep muscle mass ?

3x5 + 2x8-10 @ Same intensity should be enough ? Or would it be too little reps ?

Lyle,

The Bayesian bbing team has been a strong proponent of everyday (5-6 day) full body training for the most advanced trainees.

Where would you put that style of training against specialization cycles (as far an advancement/training "hierarchy").

I'd like to give spec cycles a try. I wanted to see if you approve of the way I will set them up, Lyle. I am all good for lower body but I wanted to see if my upper body spec cycles look ok. I plan to spec between chest/bi's, then back/tris', then delts/bi's and repeat.

Cycle 1 Upper- Chest/Bi
DB Pres 4x8
Hammer Strength Incline 3x10-12
Fly 3x15-20
Bicep Curls 3x8
Cable Curls 4x8-12
Cable row 3x8 (on other upper day do lat pulldowns 3x8)
Side Laterals 3x8
Tricep Pushdown 3x12-15

Cycle 2 - Upper Back/Tri's
Lat Pulldown 4x6-8
Cable Row 3x10-12
Row Machine 3x15-20
DB Press 3x8
Tricep pushdown 4x10-12
another tricep exercise 3x10-12
side lateral raise 3x8
bicep curls 3x12-15

Cycle - Delts/Bi's
Shoulder Press HS - 4x6-8
Side Laterals 3x10-12
Rear delts 3x10-12
Hammer curls 3x8
Cable Curls 4x10-12
Lat Pulldown 3x8 (on other upper day do rows)
Peck Deck 3x8
Tri Pushdowns 3x10-12

Seems like a lot of volume, latter exercises might suffer.

Or, what if I cut out some of the volume and just focussed more on 1 muscle:

Looks good to me. If you wanna di both why not aba bab with a being chest b being bicep days. Works out to 15 sets weekly
