Almost 4 hours of exercise. That's quite a lot. If DOM prevents you from training, just train other muscles.

Do you calculate calories as well? If so, it would be good to report them as well.

It's not that much considering that other than a bit of walking, I'd not worked out for 3 days coz of DOMS. And since both 22 Min Hard Corps-SpecOps and p90xPlus are total body workouts, I was sore everywhere (except maybe calves), there were no muscles left!

Hopefully my body will adjust quickly this week and I won't be as sore.

As for calories, I plug in the food I plan to eat that week into cronometer.com and figure my average daily calories from there. I like cronometer coz it tells you the %RDA for all essential vitamins and minerals (about 20). All I'm looking for is that they reach ~700% for the total 7 days. Majority are usually way over.

That way, I don't have to worry about day to day and there's really no need to count daily. Some days I'll eat more or less but it all averages out. My recent average has been 1700-2000. This week will be 2000 (a bit fattier than usual coz of avocados and spanish peanuts).

This has been my strategy during maintenance and based on results, it's been working well.

Seems pretty legit. You don't see a lot non-extreme diet logs on this forum.

Yeah, I've also been down the extreme route (very low cal) a couple of times. They worked but I could never get the results to last.

My issue was always exercise. This is the first time I've been consistently active - 2 yrs now. And now at around 115 lbs, I'm able to eat more than I did when I was 152 lbs.

*Tomorrow/Saturday will be in the 70s again so I'll try and do an extra long ride to make up for Sunday's freezing 20s.

Food:

2 hrs - Cycling....The worst!!

Bloody forecast (TX) had showed it'd be in the 60's by the time I got back. It was wrong! Went out in a light t-shirt and bike shorts. It was sunny but a bit windy. I figure I'll be fine. I wasn't!

1 hr out, wind picks up, temp drops to 30s, fingers start freezing. I'm hustling, but my mountain bike is barely moving coz of the wind, over 25 mph. I can't even ride up some hills and have to walk them.

I know my hands won't make it another hr. I need gloves. So I make a detour and stop by Walmart. I usually carry only $5 but I'm thrilled to find a $20. I buy a hoodie as well. It's nice and warm. I feel better. But not for long.

In a few minutes, with 2 pairs of gloves on, they start freezing again. My toes too. My eyeballs don't feel right. Wind is insane. I hustle the last 30 minutes and get home in a horrible state. It takes over half hr to defrost. Worst bike ride ever!!

2 Week Review

Exercise:
*Resistance training
- wk 1: 2 sessions
- wk 2: 3 sessions
*Cardio
- wk 1: 8 hrs - low intensity
- wk 2: 7.5 hrs - mod-high intensity

Food:
*Avg/day - ~1850 cals

Weight:
*It's gone UP!! To 118 lbs!! November ranged from 113-116 lbs.
*At mid cycle so it's not water retention from that.
*Could be water retention from DOMS. Not sure.
*Could be the higher fat intake in the last week. It went up to 30% fat, I usually keep it at <15%.
*Could be that due to DOMS, energy expenditure from exercise was lower resulting in lower tdee and therefore eating above maintenance.
*Could be all the above.

Solution:
*I'm not interested in eating less, so I must move more. Need more cardio. Increase volume and intensity. Might need to roll out my Insanity dvds.
*In wk 3, increase resistance training to 4 sessions.
