On topic of my goals for the year:

Create a side deal for extra income ala previous comment
Get a plan rolling saving more every month so I can spend 2 weeks in Europe for summer of 2019
Setting a physique goal for myself of 200 lbs and 7% bf for Southern Decadence in 2018
Get a promotion at work or remote working arrangement so I can move somewhere warmer. Either option is possible while we’re in the middle of a restructure right now.

200 lbs at 7% is huge. Are you 6’2 or taller to be that big & lean naturally?

175 and 7% at 6’ is awesome enough.

I’m 6’ and already been 190 at 7% at my natural limit. I’ve played around with “enhanced” supplements for a few weeks here and there in the past since then. Just planning to do it with some help for an end of the summer trip.

Heard of Tim; never read his material. I started studying Python code a few weeks ago. Figured it could help with 2 goals at once: gives me an option for freelance work, and can help my current career.

Great thread. Really interesting to see what goals everyone has outside of fitness.

Couple for me:
1) Save up enough to get my gyno left over from puberty removed
2) Get a dog
3) Get a song I've created to get 10k+ plays on SoundCloud.
4) Limit alcohol consumption to 1x/week
5) Do a real mass gaining phase without giving up after 6 weeks
6) Become comfortable holding conversations in Dutch

To whoever is trying to learn a programming language: highly recommend C# over Python. Seems like everything is moving toward a combination of C# and XML nowadays (Windows Presentation Foundation/Xamarin basically)

Gain a few pounds of muscle and then diet to leaner levels than I've ever been, I'd like to deadlift 180kg x 10. Also making cardio and cardiovascular health in general a priority.

Staying lean while the rest of the world gets fatter is like residual income yo

Half-way measures don't get very far. You can only do one thing well at a time. Trying to gain muscle while losing fat will result in failure.

Get to 10% bodyfat first while lifting weights heavy 3x a week with reduced volume. Two weeks maintenance. Bulk up slowly (1 lb weight gain per week max), focus on getting stronger, measure body composition changes often.

Gym and healthy eating is a good investment because health care costs (especially when you start getting older) suckkkkkkk unless this is just a United States problem...

It is, but let's be real, nobody cares about health until they get old.

My goal for 2018, fitness wise, is to finish late intermediate phase and to get to advanced level, so I can start specialization cycles. I should reach that goal by August, if stress allows it.

Bunch of life goals, too lazy to write them.
