Gatorade powder has a different composition. I think it uses dextrose instead of fructose. Don't know if that matters but I use it because you can mix it up at the gym with your protein powder to your liking and its alot cheaper.

I checked my big can of gatorade powder and the first ingredient is sucrose (1/2 fructose and glucose) and the second is dextose (which is just d-glucose)

Nonsense.

You don't feel performance is important when you lift for example? I do. Which is why I use a small whey/gatorade drink during training. And it's more than just performance during the workout - it can impact recovery, and, depending on your goals and training/diet setup, strength and mass gains.

It doesn't have to be a 300g slug of carbs; even some 30g carbs/10g protein can make a significant difference.

agreed. and all valid points. for persoal preference, i don't like intra-workout carbs if i have adequate pre/post workout carbs covered. i can understand where you come from though and intra-workout carbs can have their place.

for me, carbs alone pre-during workout are not quite ok
but carbs + whey full energy ahead

i think it's the thing with tryptophan from carbs alone, but with whey this is counteracted.
