Default do adipocytes become resistant to lipolysis based on their triglyceride levels?

Have their been any studies or anecdotal evidence which might suggest whether adipocytes become more resistant to lipolysis as their triglyceride stores decrease or if lipolysis occurs at the same rate in adipose tissue until it is completely depleted?
