Reminds me of my days when I rebounded from being in the hospital by almost immediately going back into an Arnold style double split routine. MWF with chest/back in the morning and legs at night. Tues/Thurs/Sat was shoulders/arms in the morning and maybe some sprints and forearms/calves that evening if I wasn't too tired (I usually was). Took Sunday off, but always had plans to go in for some extra priority work. I stuck with that schedule for 4-5 months and made a heck of a rebound thanks to muscle memory.

That was nearly 10 years ago in my mid-20s. I get tired just trying to think about duplicating that schedule now.

Have you ever considered to train for speedskating in a foreign country, like the Netherlands? The dutch seem to be pretty good at it for some reason.

Given that I retired nearly 5 years ago.....

And they are good at it due to huge selection, huge interest, etc. No magic training. Just a lot of people into a sport they care a lot about.

Yes, that makes a lot of sense.

Talking about absurd training, I've heard some words of Heather Richardson lately. The training cycle in the summer almost made her cry. Also her coach is claiming that athletes in other countries aren't training "enough" (whatever that means). He also says it's no magic. I think he believes that the competition can be much more exciting when others simply train harder. I had to think about that when reading your article.

Just accessed this article on my phone.

Are my BigPecs eyes deceiving me? It seems the main site has now been optimized for mobile phones?
