Yea, what they charge for mate in US stores is a rip-off. Ordering online or in NYC you can get it for about $4 a pound.

Mate is an acquired taste. Makes for a great buzz, though.

Dude, coffee for me = liquid prozac. I can't start my day without it!

Mate, high-end coffee, why pay so much?

Caffeine pills are just plain cheap.

Its the whole ritual, including smells, tastes, social interaction, etc. These are so ingrained for some folks, eg. British tea time, going to Starbucks, or rolling the joint and passing it around.

I loooooove coffee. But having been taking EC, I stopped all coffee intake, because it was too variable as opposed to just taking caffeine pills and knowing how much was in there (assuming that they can be trusted to be standardized enough).

Why not take the caffine pills and the coffee? I take my EC stack and still drink 3-6 cups a day. Still sleep like a log most nights.

Coffee is warm (my office is cold) and it helps blunt my hunger too.

The point of the EC stack is the ratio. I have more interest in the benefits of it than I do in satiating my desire for coffee.

you can get a pretty nice estimate on caffeine content of coffee though. I don't like replacing my coffee with those damn pills

I get my coffee from a variety of different places, and take no issue with the pills.

Not saying anyone else doing so is incorrect, but personally just like to be more exact about it if I am going to bother taking EC.
