Hit my calorie target perfect today (at 1500) and I don't feel hungry at all. For dinner, I had 800 calories available so I spent it on a can of black beans, a cup of rice, 6 fish oil pills, and some shrimp. A lot of things I ate today contributed to my feeling full: apple, banana, 5 oz of chicken, can of black beans, shrimp, big salad - all nutrient dense, fiber, protein...

Day 1: 187.6 lbs

Oddly enough my weight went up .2lbs since yesterday. I attribute this to water weight from beans + rice last night when I'm normally on the lower carb end of things. I'm hungry and stomach is growling this morning which makes the uptick in the weight all the more odd. Perhaps I can expect a drop tomorrow. I know for sure I hit 1500 or less yesterday.

Ate at maintenance today. Not what I was aiming for. Positive note: finally purchased a treadmill. I have always wanted one of these. I saw a good deal on craigslist and couldn't pass up. It is a proform xt crosswalk. Got it for $200.

My plan is to add this to my morning routine. I would like to perform 30 minutes every morning with some caffeine to start my day.

Day 2: 188.0 lbs.

Did my first treadmill running this morning. What a great way to start the morning with a 30 minute jog and some caffeine. Anyhow it a cheap treadmill so it is a little loud but not enough to wake up my family in our small hollowed wall house so lucky me. Not sure how much calories this burns but I am keeping my calories the same at body weight x 8. This 30 minutes everyday will help create a small buffer when my calories are accidentally over-estimated by 100-200.

Edit: A quick google search, http://www.myfitnesspal.com/exercise/lookup, shows that at my weight of 188, I will burn 213 calories by walking at a 4.0 mph for 30 minutes. Nice daily buffer...

Day 3: 186.8 lbs.

Never thought I would be a 4:30 am workout guy...but having a family and graduate school I found that this is my time if I want to have it bad enough. I'm enjoying my 30 minutes runs on the treadmill (though I'm already telling myself why didn't I just purchase a nice pair of shoes, get a head light, and just go outside?). Today I even added in 3 sets of pull - ups (10, 7, 4) and 3 sets of body weight squats (25, 25, 25). My treadmill run is usually 5-10 minutes of walking while I find a good youtube video....and than 20 minutes going at 5.2 miles or so.

Tomorrow I plan on doing a run and than working the chest/arms. I will be shopping for a good deal on weights and bars and have something set up in my backyard. I want to get to weight lifting again I really miss it and the calorie burn from resistance training will greatly help my diet and bodyrecomp. (If I recall correctly, most calories from weight lifting are burned in recovery). I do not want to drive in the morning to go to a gym (it would take too long and I wouldn't have time) nor do I want to do the gym at work ($55 a month and it is packed is ridiculous....well just my opinion I guess). I like the convenience of working out from home...

Day 4: 185.6 lbs.

Staging a comeback this week. Hope to record below 186 lbs for the rest of the week. These morning jogs and now workouts are very beneficial for not only the extra calorie burn I already need for my sedentary lifestyle but also mentally it sets the stage for accomplishing things.

Day 5: 184.2 lbs

Woo! Adhering pretty good. Hopefully I can make it up for earlier in the week by the time I record my averages. Brunch today was Denny's and my meal had 1020 calories in it. Leaves me open for a small dinner. Still need to do my workout (30 minutes on the treadmill) but will have time later. I slept over 10 hours last night. Guess I needed it.

Day 6: 185 lbs.

Terrible night; only 2 hours of sleep. Going to be a rough Monday...on a positive note there is a good chance of snow and I may be off work tomorrow.

Start: 190.6 lbs
Week 1 Average: 187.0 lbs
Week 2 Average: 186.34 lbs
Week 3 Average: 186.17 lbs

Slow progression for sure although this week was marked by 3 days above this weight. It could very well mean nothing and we may see my weekly average for week 4 at a 2 pound drop. Today I ate at a caloric maintenance. Sleep has been terrible the past 2 days. Feeling down and stressed due to various personal situations. On a positive note, today is a snow day and I can get ahead on some schoolwork...I never need refeed days; these just come naturally. Hope to end a month of dieting on a strong note. Really would like to see an average at 185 lbs or below.
