Default IF Dieting

Hello Lyle, I'm interested on your take about the IF Dieting protocol... I see Dr. Eades has retracted his positive take on the diet to a pretty negative approach.

Thanks

Is it any more efficient in terms of fat loss than standard six meals a day?

without a little more context (e.g. training and how it might be integrated), your question isn't answerable

also, are you assuming an identical caloric level for each?

well ill answer for him. say that yes , your caloric intake is the same as it would be @ 6 meals a day with the same macros and activity level. if nothing else , it seems that calorie partitioning might be enhanced?

FYIW, I have been using an IF approach combined with my PSMF. I find hunger to be even further blunted, and for fat loss....well its PSMF, so hard to tell, but its not hurting things any. 4 meals per 8 hour window based around PSMF guidelines for the win. Have also been trying to fit refeeds into an 8 hr window as well. Cravings are extremely well satisfied, and again hunger seems to die down quicker. 2 cents, try it and see if you like it, report back.

'might' is the key word

the one study comparing identical calories (more or less) for multiple vs 1 meal /day did finda slight fat loss in the 1 meal/day group

something is going on

integrating IF with proper training has the most potential for success IMO

I've done the standard 5-6 meals a day eat every 3 hours approach and I've been doing IF for over a year. Trust me, when choosing any type of meal frequency do it based on when you prefer to eat. If you like to eat small meals every 3 hours do it, if you like bigger meals towards the end of the day, do IF. IF is another way to plan out meal frequency, not a magic solution.

Aren't you working on a book with Martin Berkhan regarding the IF type diet? Thanks
