I'm finishing my second week and I have not had any free meals yet, I did not see any need.

You're made of tougher stuff than me if you can get through without the free meals and refeeds!! I have a distinct lack of energy by Day 4 of the week, and again by refeed day. Not horrendous, but enough that I wouldn't want to push any longer.

Also, if you're aiming for 10-12% BF, that's going to put you into Cat 1, you're planning to up your protein, right?

I started with 1.5g / lb protein and will stick to the end. I will not pause, 1.5 g / lb is an adequate amount for CAT 1.
I do not like to keep in deficit for long, so I decided to do one thing only.

It's adequate if you're not weight training.

Maybe worry about the book's recommendations on protein intake before worrying about tertiary things like efficacy of refeed?

Look at page 31 of the book.
1.5 g / lb protein is the lower protein bound for CAT 1.

You're using the first edition of the book, aren't you? Because the second edition most definitely says 2g per lb of lbm for weight training (and not on p. 31, because that's determining dietary categories, not protein requirements).

You may want to invest in the second edition. But hey, your body, your muscles...

Kind of makes you wonder what else he's doing wrong/ignoring, doesn't it?

Srsly, what part of 'do what the book says' don't people get?

I'm fine like this.
Today day 14 of the diet I woke up with 8 KG less (of course most are water), loads (training) did not undergo change and I am satisfied.

If it's going well, I will not make a change.

Anyway ...
