Default Expired Protein Powder

What do you guys do when your protein expires?

A) Throw them out the first day past the expiry date
B) Keep using them: but only for a little while (2-3 months?) after
C) Keep using all that's left

I'm inclined on doing C and just maybe doubling the usual serving size to make up for any protein that's degraded through expiry? Or is that a bad idea for health reasons.

If you could share your experiences with expired creatine too, as I hear creatinine forms from expired creatine, which could be bad for your kidneys...?

Peace

I was told it was okay to use if only slightly expired... I've done it without any problems.

It MAY be ok after expiration but I don't know if I would take a chance.

I actually recently heard of someone getting really sick from mismanufactured whey protein they bought online. Supposedly it contained some other substance of some sort. I am not saying this has anything to do with yours I am just saying it is pretty interesting/creepy.

The protein won't be bad at the expiration, it will just start to slowly denature. Just keep the lid tight, and store it in a cool/dry place ... should be okay for a while.

With that said, I won't go past 3 mos of the expiry date.

Anyone have an idea how long fish oil is good, when frozen? Mine is pretty old, and I still have a TON left.

I've had whey 3 months past expiry and never had any noticable issues - what about a greens supplement? I'm talking in particular Beyond Greens by udo's Choice - would you tae that past expiry??

I wouldn't even concern myself with expired protein powder. Just eat it.

If it has been sealed I doubt you'll have any problems. But it's a common sense thing--the older the powder, the more careful you'd have to be.
