A lethargic start to RFL again. Not that I'm necessarily weak, just this haze of lethargic feeling. My body seems to be quite resistive to RFL coming off of maintenance for two weeks - which is to be expected.

I'm starting to see the appeal to UD2 as the grind ends at 4 days, mass refeed and maintenance. But I'm not ready for that.

Getting a lot of walking in. Pushing through the grind of the diet.

Two things.

Last three days my sleep has been bad. Still sticking with it, but just adds to the grind of the whole thing.

Secondly, I didn't really think about the fact that it's Thanksgiving Monday (Canada), so I'll probably orient my refeed 5hrs to work with that.

After much thought, I decided to not follow completely through with my planned 2.5 week RFL. I hate to do it because I don't like to quit and underperform.

I'll continue until my Thanksgiving meal which will be on Sunday. So just over a week of RFL.

Reasoning: It just sucks. The grind is getting to me. Maybe I'll have a change of heart by the time I refeed on Sunday and want to continue on... but I think I'll probably return to a more moderate deficit type diet for a bit until I jump into RFL again.

I will post some pictures though. Just a little start of journal until now. I can see my upper abs start to show, but I have no clue where I sit BF% wise. It seems like I'm doing well, but I don't think I'm near 15% and it seems like my love handles will never shrink. Oh well.

I won't be weighing in tomorrow, I'll save it for Sunday.

I know I know. I didn't like writing it and a few hours afterwards I felt more optimistic.

Last night though, I woke up in the middle of the night to pee. While peeing the room started to spin. I made it back to the bed, but the room wouldn't stop spinning. It was violent spinning or anything like that, but enough to be a problem.

So I didn't even make it to Sunday. I refeeded today. But I can stick within the parameters of RFL. I'll take my refeed today and I'll do another refeed Sunday. Probably not optimal to do them so close to each other, but I'll continue on with the low calories afterwards and finish it off.

Weigh in day

Week 0 (Starting): 86.95kg (191.7lbs)
Week 1 (Low Calorie): 82.80kg (182.5lbs) -4.15kg/-9.2lbs
Week 2 (Moderate Deficit): 82.70kg (182.3lbs) -0.10kg/-0.2lbs
Week 3 (Moderate Deficit): 83.00kg (182.3lbs) +0.30kg/+0.66lbs
Week 4 (RFL): 80.25kg (176.9lbs): -2.75kg/-6.06lbs
Week 5 (RFL): 79.50kg (175.3lbs): -0.75kg/-1.60lbs
Week 6 (Maintenance): 82.05kg (180.9lbs): +2.55kg/+5.62lbs
Week 7 (Maintenance): 83.40kg (183.9lbs): +1.35kg/+3lbs (Heavy Sodium)
Week 8 (RFL): 80.15kg (176.70lbs): -3.25kg/-7.2lbs

Here's a before and after from roughly the start of this journal to today. I apologize for the before picture pose not matching the after. My body's topography (for lack of a better word) just disappears while straight on and is useless for comparison.

The bottom of my stomach is sagging excess skin. I hate it, but it's part of my life as of now.

Alright. I have finished with Thanksgiving and the food. It was good and I definitely went over the 5 hour block of time for a refeed.

The good news is that the food event is over and I can get back to work. I have my trip on the weekend of the 21st. Gives me sometime to prep for the food that comes with that. From there, should be fine (food wise) until Christmas.

Observation: For whatever reason, week 2 of RFL is always easier than week 1. It just doesn't seem to suck as much and it just seems more manageable. I get tired earlier than normal, but it's more of a general tired (go to bed) feeling than my body is empty tired feeling.

Another official week done and now it's just a matter of finishing off this half week. I'm just going to continue to plow through to the end and have the last refeed when I'm finished.

Nothing else to report. I'm just hoping that I am moving closer to my end goal. It sort of sucks always being further away than you think you are. But in the end, all I can do is move forward.

Alright. End of this RFL round. I had my refeed and just going to maintenance as best as I can for the next two weeks (or so) as prescribed. I'm going to return to a moderate deficit diet instead of RFL. Though I'll probably go again with it though.

I'm still not sure what my BF% is. As I mentioned before, my interest in BF% is nothing more than a determining factor in UD2 and I suppose CAT1 RFL if I ever get there. I get the sneaking suspicion I'm probably only sitting at 20% now or maybe... maybe a little under it. It's hard to tell sometimes with my particular build.

Anyway, I can only move forward either way.
