There's just something so manly about the erg as compared to the stairmaster or elliptical. Even the cycles feel a bit girl-faddy. But the moment you sit on that ERG, all of a sudden those pheromones just explode and you're like OOOOAAARGHHHHHHOUIIII!

Walking somewhere relaxing

Raises activity lowers cortisol doesn't affect your workouts

The OP said to raise your cardio ability. I'm not sure walking really fits the bill here, unless you're terribly out of shape and walking appreciably raises your heart rate.

Walking is definitely a great low impact activity for losing weight though, without negatively effecting your lifting.

Yeah this was about cardio. A gym-type alternative of similar time efficiency. Not going on scenic country walks

Rowing if you are not good at it. Row until you are efficient, then pick something else you are not good at. Then do that. If you are going to do the cycling route, consider fartleks/intervals or spin class - but spin class gets pretty silly at some point....people buying clip in shoes and all that......

Erg.. sounds like a noise you make when you drop your iphone twice in a row. I'm also up for elliptical. though I love doing outside cardio (I live in the countryside and the air & view is fantastic), elliptical is very comfortable. sex is also good. psychopathic gay sex ofc.
