Default Ems

Hi Lyle, You have had some experience with the EMS ( read your article at CF.com). How useful is this? Is it mostly a rehab device or does it have any other benefits i.e. help coordination in a sportsperson?

most of the research to date shows that it has no real advantage over voluntary contractions in terms of strength or anything else

it may be useful for rehab or getting an inhibited muscle to fire but that's about it

unless done in the context of proper training, it is more likely to hurt coordination than help b/c it doesn't fire the muscles in the same pattern as voluntary contraction
