Now there is a seminar, and he's back to using "Damage" instead of "Adaption". Yay?
The only yay is that "damage" will draw more attention.

I was very eager to ask Dr. Bryan Chung for his views on Layne's whole metabolic damage schtick.

In the end, for someone who's all about the science and evidence, he absolutely tip-toed around my question .

Another video. White board graphic included. Kind of interesting though. Not sure I heard "damage" as much though.

Do you have any evidence of that?

This is a picture of him next to me from the Olympia, he didn't look 'unnatural' at all.

Haven't read the thread but he seemed a decent bloke to me.

well except for being the absolute worst kind of nonsense spreader in terms of metabolic damage. And then while claiming to be a scientist who relies on research, falling back on anecdote and personal attacks on me when he couldn't defend his claims. HIs arguments were the worst kind of guru nonsense.

As to the drug thing, let's just let it go. Layne is certainly at the top of what's possible naturally. Does he use? I don't know and let's not turn this thread into that please.

I don't agree with Lyle that Layne is at the top of what's possible naturally also the same goes up for Proto. It are steroids physiques. I agree with Lyle that we must not discuss futher who is natural or or not.

The only thing is:I only trust Lyle Mcdonald.

Could we say that when money is involved, seemingly intelligent people change?.

I'm quite surprised about what has happened with Layne and Martin.
Much more with Layne than with Martin.

Martin it was from start extremely biased in his IF stuff. I guess that when all your name and reputation is based in a biased path, you'll try to defend it at any cost. End of the story: Multiple articles insulting 'stupid people' who doesn't believe his claims ('Look at my picture and eat sh*t').

But Layne has a more respected education at least... I have a PhD in Engineering and I really know getting a PhD is not for intelligent-gods, but it seems that in the fitness area you have to be very skillful to not letting fame, clients, sponsors, etc; backfire you're initial principles. And those principles are backing up claims with scientific research.

I know that sometimes 'informal knowledge' is ahead of scientific research, that's a true part of reality (.1% of reality). But I think you should be very careful with that when you have a scientific-based-reputation... you could became a bro-science guy quite fast.
