Default Cheat meal weekly timing

I am currently undergoing Lyle's Generic Bulking program.

Once a week I incorporate a cheat day in which I consume roughly 500 calories over my maintenance. I'm just wondering which day to place this on.

I workout Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.

a) Tuesday = cheat day, so that my energy reserves are a little higher for workouts throughout the week.

or

b) Friday = cheat day, so that I can recover better over the weekend.

I realize the difference won't be huge, just curious which one would work better.

Personally, I would do it on a friday after you're a bit depleted from working out.
That way, the extra calories will help you to recover.
500 calories isn't really that bad.
I have a cheat meal on Sunday. One of my boxing sessions is on Sunday morning, and I'm pretty depleted after it's over.
Then my girlfriend and I go to an Indian restaurant that has a vegetarian buffet, and I go wild on lentils, wild rice, tofu dishes and other good stuff.
No idea about how many extra calories I consume, but my weight is always back to normal by Tuesday.

Probably Friday, and to add some rationalization. Its to recover over the weekend, which would lead to better workouts for the rest of the week and etc.

Honestly, 500 surplus once a week is not very bad or something to worry about.

Are you aiming for a long and slow fat loss?
I don't think everyday eating 500 calories under maintenance needs a re-feed once per week. This will only prolong you dieting period.
Maybe once every two weeks if you really need them. For that Friday sounds good. Some room for social life/booze

That makes sense, I'll try one every two weeks, go out with the boys for a couple drinks. Always good for a de-stress from the military life
