Availability with a lot of these beers is highly dependent on where you live. You can check Southern Tier's website for distribution, they're out of NY I believe. It's been in the liquor stores (well the good ones) in MA since the fall.

You probably won't find it much cheaper anywhere else. It's the same price due to the higher alcohol content. Try this beer if you REALLY want something strong.

And if you're really worried about the carbs, you can e-mail Dogfishead directly.

Yeah it's pretty awesome. You would think it would be extremely bitter but it's actually quite sweet. One 12 oz. bottle will give you a helluva buzz. There's also the world record holder for beer, Sam Adams Utopia, at about 25% alcohol. I've tried this many times at beerfests, tastes/looks like cognac.

For my carb-load I went to a Japanese/Thai joint and ordered Blue Moon beer. Please, do not drink this! Tasted just like watered down urine (not that I tasted that ) ..... the waitress scratched that one off my bill though - kudos to her.

Went home and hit the stash I got from a local jem of a brewery store "Brlawley's". Had:

1 - Highland Black Mocha Stout
2 - 60 Minute IPA by Dogfish Head Craft Brewery
3 - White Wolf Golden Ale

with Highland Black Mocha Stout being my favorite, since I love coffee...plus it's local, thus can be found on draft almost anywhere.
