Default Multivitamins

I know they're no replacement for real food but does anyone know the science behind why ? Are they any good? What makes real whole food better ?

for a start, do some research on vitamin E.

What most folks think is Vitamin E is just tocopherol. however there is many more 'forms' of it in food.

eat healthy food, + still take a multivitamin. just don't avoid food because you are taking a vitamin pill.

Whole food has many other good stuff (i.e. phytonutrients) that either aren't available in a multivitamin, or science hasn't discovered yet.

Like Myles said, you can eat whole food + take a multivitamin just to be sure. After all, it's a supplement, not a replacement.
