Default Does protein from vegetables count?

I buy the bags of vegetables that you can steam in the microwave. Each bag has about 8g of protein but I was wondering if protein from vegetables is good enough on this diet to count towards the protein goal?

If you have a mixed diet of other protein sources as well, yes they count.

I personally don't count protein from sources like that, just because meat and dairy is relatively leucine-rich, and I'm too lazy to check on everything I eat. That's not coming from the book, though, I could be wrong in thinking that's relevant.

I mean yeah it counts but it's fairly negligible. If you only need 80-100g of protein a day as a women or a Cat 3 i guess it makes a bit of a difference... but for a lot of people on RFL who are needing closer to 200g of protein it's barely worth tracking.

I don't really track the calories from vegetables. Between the high fiber content and protein it's just not enough net calories to really amount to anything over the course of a few weeks.

You'd have to REALLY be stuffing yourself with greens for it to matter. My guess is after about a day or two of the toilet episodes you're going to experience you'll rethink this approach

Thank you Lyle. This website is a game changer once you understand the mechanisms behind fat loss/muscle gain.

Spun my wheels for years prior to finding this site.
