The amount of carbohydrates is irrelevant. You will be a "sugar-burner" when using niacin even if you eat no carbohydrates. That said, how is 100g carb-heavy? I usually eat 150-200g per meal easily.

I had ordered a bottle (Now brand) and made sure it wasn't the "no-flush" version. Unfortunately when it arrived I saw that it is a sustained release version.

I suppose it won't work for the purpose of the OP nutrient partition effect?

Well, I kinda took from the OP that everyone has a "carb-heavy" meal daily. Since carb intakes vary a lot and some people don't even get a 100 g a day 100g seemed high enough for me. Personally, I get 300-400g of carbs on my high carb days, but I'm quite small and still being careful not to go overboard with it after my RFL run.

Just went 300 kcals over with carbs and protein though. Still not flushing, tried 2g today and yesterday just to see if it'll make a difference. I guess I just don't flush. huh.

Great thread.

Since I'm going to use this for the depletion/tension workouts, would this be dosed 5-10 min before the pre-tension cho/pro shake? Seeing as how this is a small "meal" to set us up for the carb-load.

Nah. Read it's MOA.

Consume it with your last carb meal at the end of your crab load.

Understood. Thanks.

For training, I'll dose it before depletion ONLY.

Pertaining to the last meal of the carb load, I think I might hold off since I usually do a p+C meal before the power workout Saturday morning.

Gang, I know niacin pretty well. We will ignore the hot flushes that it gives you. The point that I want to make is that large niacin batches will affect your cholesterol levels. Anything that chemically affects cholesterol levels can have an impact on your liver.

If you choose a route of large niacin doses I urge you to work with a physician and have your liver enzymes monitored. Also, I would run from the timed-release niacin like the plague. (Sayeth the man who is in easy walking distance from the only Ebola outbreak in the US. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reston_virus) If you do the niacin, suck up the hot flashes and take the regular.

A daily low dose aspirin does help with the flashes somewhat.
