![]() I meant the circumstances surrounding the Keto Diet.
"the lack of insulin may compromise IGF-1 levels as well as affecting protein synthesis." For example. Can Keto + Steroids Computer with a Carb including diet for muscle synthesis? |

![]() Did I stutter?
And what do you mean 'circumstances surrounding'? Like the presidential election? KETOSIS IS NOT CATABOLIC IF YOU'RE EATING ENOUGH PROTEIN. And systemic IGF-1 is irrelevant in adults. What word is hard to understand here? |

![]() Fair enough, but in another thread you claim the opposite:

![]() [quote=Beard_in_the_North;299348]Fair enough, but in another thread you claim the opposite:
So which is it? Catabolic or not catabolic? And if the ketogenic diet is not catabolic, is it therefore anabolic? I ask because I have lost 100+ pounds by following a strict SKD and eating below my TDEE. If ketosis is never anabolic, I'd like to know before I waste my time upping my calories someday in a futile attempt to build lean mass.[quote] Fine, let me rephrase If you eat sufficient protein, you won't lose muscle on a ketogenic diet. The dietary protein will offset anything else. That doesn't make a ketogenic diet anabolic in the sense of optimailly building muscle. |
