Exclamation Gotta Cheat For Social Reasons: Stay in Ketosis?

Hello everyone,

I've been doing RFL's PSMF with highly satisfying results and would still want to keep things going at this pace for a while.

I fall into Category 2 dieter, meaning that I only get 1 structured refeed a week. Today, I am invited to go to the class reunion event held at a rather pricey buffet restaurant. The price is a hefty $35 and I wouldn't want to bring my prepped meals over there nor eat like a little bird over the $35 price tag. So it is decided that I would cheat (although I'll estimate the calories so it stays somewhere in the 10% range of my maintenance for the peace of mind)

Now, I just had a structured refeed the day before and am pretty sure I haven't exhausted my glycogen store quite yet.

The question is, should I keep my carbs high today as well or should I keep carb as low as possible and keep focusing on protein and fat? Should I adapt a ketogenic eating style for today instead? As much as I would love to keep eating lean protein-only diet over there at the restaurant, such menus don't exist for obvious reasons...

What would you guys do? All comments appreciated!

You get 1 structured refeed and 1 free meal. Use this as your free meal. It's not ideal when they have to fall back to back but life happens. Just enjoy it. If it were me I would stick to lots of protein, veggies and some nice carby and sweets after I ate those. Just avoiding the junk rolls they always want you to fill up on a buffet.

A depletion or at least some type of weightlifting is preferable prior to the workout as are some fibrous choices before and during the meal. Keep the fats reasonably low.

Not sure why you didnt save the refeed for today

Thank you Lyle. This website is a game changer once you understand the mechanisms behind fat loss/muscle gain.

Spun my wheels for years prior to finding this site.

I'd do this and make it my only meal

1) Prolong your fast as long as possible
2) Only eat a small amount of lean protein and veg beforehand
3)Depletion workout beforehand if possible
4) Enjoy yourself in moderation and make sensible food choices
5)Go back to your diet asap following it
