Default 8 Cycles - Break or Continue?

Hi Everyone,

I have a quick question. I couldn't find an exact answer after searching the threads so hopefully one of you can help.

UD2.0 - I'm coming up to my 8th week & looking great. Truthfully - I want to keep going, however I know Lyle recommends taking 2 week offs.

Can I switch to the mass variant for 2 weeks to help keep things in line? Does that constitute as a break from the diet?

The reason I bring this up is because I know for a fact I have trouble eating at my maintenance, without something like this routine dialed in place for me.

Any advice is welcome!

My gut instinct says no because the reason for the diet break is to normalize leptin, which requires eating at or above maintenance with a decent amount of carbohydrate intake. I believe the mass variant restricts carb intake on the "diet" days (been awhile since I've read it though). If that's the case, I don't think you would achieve the primary purpose of the diet break. Feel free to try it though, keep us updated if you do.

Thanks for the response! Guess I need to do some more research on Leptin & why I would want to normalize it.

I'm sure it is in the book somewhere
