Default Are women better off with a higher fat diet ?

Hi Lyle,
So I've been reading that women have glycogen sparing metabolisms in which we use for fat rather than carbs for fuel. Also, fats are very beneficial for hormone production, namely estrogen and testosterone, which are both anabolic. Does that mean in general, women should eat more of the calories from fat, like 35-40%?

Also, due to the above facts, does that mean women don't respond to high carb refeeds, like the UD 2.0 refeeds, since they don't get to deplete as much glycogen ?

About both has been already written.

In general yes, but not all are equal - some do better on carbs, some on fats.

Refeeds with carbs (Leptin..) work for them, too. - Lyle wrote about it, women deplete the same somewhere search the page..

UD2 works for women even better than for men.(more often refeeds)

The idea that women spare glycogen absolutely regardless of training is incorrect nonsense spread by people online who have no clue what they are talking about. You can't fuel weight training on dietary fat.

It's true during low and moderate intensity aerobic activity and that's it. Not weight training, not high-intensity aerobic training. It also changes during the menstrual cycle somewhat.

So again, in absolute terms, what people are writing is gibberish because it ignores context.
