Default all about fats and carbs

I finished reading AFP, I set my protein intake in the calculator. I understand we are to eat little to no carbs. What about fat? Outside from the essential fats from fish oil supplements, how much can we consume?

I like to use cooking oil to pan sear my protein. Is that even allowed?

I also see people using 0% fat greek yogurt (which I love) Doesn't it have too many carbs to include in this program?

Also, Im in category 1. My goal is to drop 4 lbs in 12 days. How often can we cycle this program?

Thank you

Theo

Is pan searing allowed in this diet. It's hard to calculate how much residual fat remains on the protein after cooking it. Just want to get others thoughts on how they cook their food

As a rule of thumb: if it's something you 'love', it's probably doesn't belong on the RFL.

I think you can survive 12 days without searing protein in fat. Same with greek yogurt. Some of us are long-haulers who start out at Cat 3. I sear protein in fat sometimes and I eat fat-free greek yogurt (although I find one with as little carbs as possible; they're not all bad) -- I make little cheats here and there because it helps me stick with the diet longterm. Some people are more strict and would argue that with these little cheats I am not doing RFL -- and so what. Your mileage may vary.

Thank you for your insight. at the end of the day adherence is key to success. This my first time trying this program. Im currently 175 lbs approx 15% BF and weight train. The calculator says Im approx 150 lbs LBM and I should eat 300 g of protein.

That equates to approx 1400 calories of chicken breasts raw (45 g) according to calorie king. If I add say 250 calories for EFA and residual carbs and fiber will yield a total of 1650 calories. Is that too many calories?

Thank you for your help
