I don't know how you and your wife manage finances, but my hubby and I give ourselves an "allowance" of $100 each with every paycheck, which goes directly into our separate checking accounts. The rest of our money goes into our joint account, which pays for all our bills, date nights, vacations, etc. Our allowance money is ours, i.e. we don't have to discuss with each other how we spend it.

We have a weekly date night with dinner out so that covers the weekly seafood thing -- luckily, my hubby loves seafood as much as I do. The money for the 5 and 10 lb rewards will come out of my allowance.

No worries -- I've just been giving a lot of marital finance advice in the office recently so that's where my mind went.

Why doesn't your wife want you to feel pretty?

Ok, some weight gone is better than none, but I really hope this isn't it for the week. I know, weight loss isn't linear, blah, blah...

Hubby has informed me we're going to the gym today. So no excuses!

We ate out last night again too, which explains why I had sashimi two nights in a row. The eggplant dish was not completely RFL compliant (it said grilled on the menu but when it came out, it looked like it might have been "grilled" on a flattop) so I might have to count this as a free meal. It doesn't make a huge difference in the end, I suppose.

Yesterday's eats
Breakfast chicken sausage and ff greek yogurt
Thai style turkey salad
Lf string cheese
Eggplant stuffed with salmon with teriyaki sauce
Sashimi with salad and cucumber in ponzu sauce
Miso soup

Oh! Lol. Every man should feel pretty at least once in his life.

Also that's exactly how hubby and I plan our spending money. :-)

That was not exactly the type of reward I had in... never mind.

Haha, those rewards work too. Gotta show that you lost fat everywhere to someone...

The scale teased me this morning so I'm hopeful for a lower number by tomorrow's official weigh-in.

Made a RFL version of the eggplant dish stuffed with fish. It turned out well for the first attempt. Once I tweak it, I'll post it here for your enjoyment!

We did in fact go the gym yesterday. Again, 2 mi on treadmill followed by 2 sets upper and lower. Felt a little easier but that may have been because it was the morning instead of evening so I had more energy.

Going to make squid curry with cauliflower "rice" today.

Yesterday's eats
Steamed egg whites with salsa verde, breakfast chicken sausage and ff greek yogurt
Thai style turkey salad with veggies
Eggplant stuffed with tuna with homemade teriyaki sauce

Whoosh! Yay, sub-200's!

I know I said I was going to hold off on free meals until the end of the month, but I forgot that the monthly ladies' potluck gathering I host for my church is this Thursday. So I will be taking a free dinner this week and enjoying a taste of each of the home cooked goodies our members bring. Looking forward to that!

Here's how the rest of my free meals stack up in the next month based on my work and social calendar:
Jan 28-Feb 1: Two free meals during Puerto Rico work trip
Feb 7: Free meal at my sister's boyfriend's 30th birthday party
Feb 18: Free meal at monthly potluck dinner
Feb 19: Free meal at work for my last day in the office
Feb 22: Free meal at Zahav with the hubby

So three free meals planned in Jan and four in Feb.

My goal by next Monday is to be below 195 so I can shop for a pretty accessory in Puerto Rico. Realistically, it doesn't look like I'll make the 180's by the end of the month, but I'll do my best to get as close as possible.

Yesterday's eats
Steamed egg whites with lf cheddar and salsa verde
Squid curry with cauliflower rice and green beans
Small slice of turkey summer sausage (from TJ's - decent macros)
One bite of hubby's pork chili
Hot smoked sockeye salmon (also from TJ's) with soft boiled egg and broccoli

Don't know if I mentioned this, but I drink a cup of coffee a day along with lots of seltzer and herbal tea.

This is an awesome idea! I'm definitely going to implement this to keep me motivated!!
