Default How Much Muscle In Weight Can A Natural Person Put On In First 1-3 Months?

How much muscle and other stuff that would contribute to bodyweight from weight training can a person put on in the first 1-3 months for both male and female, also considering muscle memory if they trained before.

I know studies show at first it's mostly neurological adaptations but with muscle memory it seems that muscle mass does happen alot quicker once a person starts training.

So if a male loses 10 pounds on the scale in a couple of months how much would you factor in for muscle? The differences could range greatly with genetics and stuff but any ranges?

The weight from added muscle will be fairly negligible.

But for someone going from completely inactive to weight training, the scale is not going to be a good indicator of that.

Within a matter of weeks you'll start storing more glycogen in your muscles which binds to water and increases the size/appearance of muscle and your overall bodyweight.

On the other hand if you're talking about a very overweight person and they go low carb they're going to drop a ton of water weight.

In short, the scale isn't really too important the first month or two.

But for roughly the first year, 1.5-2 lbs of muscle per month is attainable for younger untrained men.

Thank you Lyle. This website is a game changer once you understand the mechanisms behind fat loss/muscle gain.

In 6 weeks of Keto bulk I went from 141 to 152 .Same fat content via mirror.
Started Keto about a week after starting working out. Water was lost as I was peeing all day throughout the day after a few days.Depending on how much water I lost, I think my experiment worked. No AAS usage either.
I used to train prior (about 8 months before and have throughout my life)

Waht does 'considering muscle memory' mean, that is a totallly different issue

Complete newbie is gaining little muscle over the first 8 weeks since htat's mostly neurological. Muscular gains will increase.

For women, 3-5 lbs of muscle in the first 6 months is fairly common
Men might get double that.

But first 2 months, not much
