You're a 14-year old male who has already had/has a problem with anorexia.
Have your parents gotten you any help? Do they know about your fitness forum posting? I think this thread should be closed. |

Lol, yes they know about the "fitness forum posting", and yes I've gotten help and I'm no longer diagnosed with anorexia. Can't I be serious with weightlifting just beacuse I'm 14? That makes no sense what so ever.
It's been quite a while since the anorexia (1-2 years), so please, please, don't threat me like that. EDIT: Just wanted to say thanks for your concern. ![]() Last edited by Musclechild : 01-10-2010 at 11:50 AM. |

You're 14 and skinny, if I were in your position I would lift weights and eat a sh!t-ton of food.

You're welcome.
It's fine for a 14-year old to be interested in weight-lifting. My concern is that I nor anyone else has any idea if you're mentally in a place where someone could offer you an opinion that would not be harmful (it would be irresponsible to just ignore your history). I wish you well and just want you to have a happy/well-rounded growing up ![]() |

Great Base.
1. Eat 1g Protein/pound Bodyweight (BW) and about 16xBW kcal total. (no supplements needed, except 10 g Fish oil for health) 2. Buy Starting Strength and do it as prescribed with Dips on Bench Day and Chinups on Military Press Day. Short description of correct lifting technique on this site: http://stronglifts.com/how-to-squat-...mmon-problems/ You can also read the Wiki (answers 99% of your questions): http://startingstrength.wikia.com/wi..._Strength_Wiki Also you should make Videos of your lifting Technique and post them here for critique. If possible search for good trainers or other weight lifters who know good technique and ask them for help. When you have trouble to increase the weight you lift, eat 500 kcal more. (litres of milk (1l = 700kcal & 30g Protein in it) and nuts are great if you have problems eating enough) If follow this and read around on bodyrecomposition.com you will be way better off than the great majority of Beginners. And make fantastic Progress: http://startingstrength.com/articles...t_rippetoe.pdf Last edited by Derzui : 01-10-2010 at 12:02 PM. |

You are probably around 10-12%, not that it matters since at this point you are really skinny and need to add tons of muscle. To do that listen to what Derzui said about like 50 posts ago. I do think that 16xbw might be a bit too low for you. Don't go lower than you are eating now. Aim to add 1lb per week by having an excess of 500 calories per day. If your weight stays stable with 3000 cals one week the do 3500 the next week and so on. I am 5'6" and started lifting at 15 yrs old when I weighed 125lbs so we have/had similar builds. The first 3 years of working out I didn't eat enough food and nothing really happened I gained maybe 25lbs in 3 yrs. Then I started eating 4000-4500cals and magic started to happen, I got up to 185lbs or so within a year. Bodybuilding is 70% nutrition, that isn't BS it's true so get eating.
